Success Story
Asylum Granted for Afghan Journalist
June 2, 2026
A journalist who worked for international media in Kabul fled Afghanistan after the Taliban takeover. She entered the U.S. on a visitor visa and filed for asylum within the one-year deadline, citing well-founded fear of persecution based on her political opinion and profession.
We prepared a detailed country conditions report, gathered supporting affidavits from colleagues and human rights organizations, and coached her through two rounds of interviews. Her asylum was granted, and she has since been reunited with her sister through family-based immigration.
