Parole in Place: A Path to Legal Status for Military Families

June 2, 2026 · Uncategorized

Parole in Place (PIP) is an immigration benefit available to certain undocumented family members of active-duty U.S. military personnel, reservists, and veterans. It allows eligible individuals to be paroled into the U.S. without leaving the country, which can be a critical step toward obtaining a green card.

Who Is Eligible

Spouses, parents, and children of current or former U.S. military members may qualify. The service member must have served in the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, or certain reserve components. National Guard members who have served in federal active duty may also qualify.

Benefits of PIP

Parole in Place grants lawful entry, which is often the missing piece for individuals who entered without inspection. With lawful entry, eligible family members can apply for adjustment of status through their U.S. citizen relative without leaving the United States.

Do Law Office is proud to serve military families and has helped numerous service members secure status for their loved ones through PIP.
